[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Went to England on a school trip. First time to Europe. Since it was a school trip we were visiting the homes of renowned English authors like William Wordsworth and Charles Dickens as well as Oxford and Cambridge. While on this trip we visited York, England, the namesake for my hometown. The weather was sunny when we arrived at Heathrow and the day before we left and cloudy for the rest. Typical England.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Arrived in London in beautiful sunshine. That lasted for about an hour and it remained clouded up for pretty much the rest of the time there. Toured London and went through the Tower of London and went up to Abbey Road Studios.[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ item=”mediaGrid_BlurWithContentBlock” grid_id=”vc_gid:1514661626480-bd5c114a-06ea-6″ include=”249,247,248,250,251,254,253,246,252,255,256,257,258,259,260,245,244,243,242″][vc_column_text]Since this was supposed to be an educational trip we made a stop at Oxford.[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ item=”mediaGrid_BlurWithContentBlock” grid_id=”vc_gid:1514661626492-21dde664-6b3f-0″ include=”262,263,264″][vc_column_text]Then on to Stratford-upon-Avon where we saw Shakespeare’s house and Anne Hathaway’s cottage. We saw a play that night that just did not seem to end. It’s hard to keep American 16-18 year olds still.[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ item=”mediaGrid_BlurWithContentBlock” grid_id=”vc_gid:1514661626498-ee610332-cdba-4″ include=”269,268,267″][vc_column_text]Then up into the Lake District. Pretty scenery here at Lake Windemere. Visited Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage as well.[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ item=”mediaGrid_BlurWithContentBlock” grid_id=”vc_gid:1514661626505-5a3c72b1-01ff-2″ include=”238,239,240,241″][vc_column_text]Then onto York. We had a day here but it poured. I walked into the shopping district and bought a few things but didn’t do much else. i didn’t want to keep getting wet. So I sat down in the hotel room to watch TV. The Cricket World Cup was on and I tried to get into that but I couldn’t. I remember this Australian guy just kept batting which seemed odd to me but I guess normal in cricket. So, I decided to find something else and I found rugby. It was Rugby League but I was hooked. That was sweet.[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ item=”mediaGrid_BlurWithContentBlock” grid_id=”vc_gid:1514661626508-57e8c6a3-6280-7″ include=”270,271″][vc_column_text]Back towards London. Stopped in Canterbury to see the cathedral, at Cambridge to see the university and at Rochester to see Charles Dickens’ house.[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”3″ item=”mediaGrid_BlurWithContentBlock” grid_id=”vc_gid:1514661626514-c82276d4-7ce3-8″ include=”236,237,235,234,233,265,266″][vc_btn title=”Back to My Travels” style=”3d” align=”center” button_block=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Ftheworldneedsmorekevin.com%2Fmy-travels%2F|||”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
