[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Back into Canada. Visiting Niagara Falls, Toronto, Kingston, Quebec, Montreal and Ottawa. My beer bottle collection really took off on this trip with a number of fine Canadian beers. I found a place in Montreal that sold them by the bottle, should have bought more there than the two sixers I got. Also went to a Toronto Blue Jays game![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
Toronto
Arrived and departed from Toronto but only spent one day there.[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ item=”mediaGrid_BlurWithContentBlock” grid_id=”vc_gid:1514661864954-0d3ba2b7-294d-4″ include=”1792,1793,1794,1795,1796,1797,1798,1799″][vc_column_text]
Niagara Falls
I like Niagara Falls. It is just something about the place.[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ item=”mediaGrid_BlurWithContentBlock” grid_id=”vc_gid:1514661864963-de2b3317-9839-9″ include=”1800,1801,1802,1803,1804,1805,1806,1807,1808,1809,1810,1811″][vc_column_text]
Upper Canada Village
Go back in time to colonial Canada. As a bonus a small battle during the War of 1812 was fought here. Pictures are here. Upper Canada is just the old name for Ontario.[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ item=”mediaGrid_BlurWithContentBlock” grid_id=”vc_gid:1514661864968-69d3848b-af2b-2″ include=”1812,1813,1814″][vc_column_text]
Kingston and the Thousand Islands
Outside of the dressing (yes, this is where the salad dressing comes from) I didn’t know much about this area. Kingston was at one point the capitol of Upper Canada and is located at the end of Lake Ontario where the St. Lawrence River begins. The main tourist attraction is Old Fort Henry, a British-Canadian fort used to defend the town mostly from us Americans.[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ item=”mediaGrid_BlurWithContentBlock” grid_id=”vc_gid:1514661864974-c2d2ea2d-e5aa-7″ include=”1815,1816,1817,1818,1819,1820,1821,1822,1823″][vc_column_text]
Quebec City
This was my favorite spot of the trip. Getting to walk the Plains of Abraham was one of the great moments of the trip. Had lunch one day at a McDonalds here. On their meal board was #11, a double Big Mac. Where has that been in the US? Also had free samples of Vanilla Coke there before it was released to the general public.[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ item=”mediaGrid_BlurWithContentBlock” grid_id=”vc_gid:1514661864978-dc93b615-085b-1″ include=”1824,1825,1826,1827,1828,1829,1830,1831,1832,1833,1834,1835,1836,1837,1838,1839,1840,1841,1842″][vc_column_text]
Montreal
Since I took French in high school I tried to converse in French there. The people started back at me like I grew a third eye. Went out to Olympic Stadium and walked around it. The Expos were on the road so I was not able to see a game but I regret to this day not going into the team store to get something.[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ item=”mediaGrid_BlurWithContentBlock” grid_id=”vc_gid:1514661865074-802828d4-b428-7″ include=”1843,1844,1845,1846,1847,1848,1849,1850,1851,1852,1853,1854,1855,1856,1857,1858,1859,1860″][vc_column_text]
Ottawa
An ugly rainy day there. Had time to visit the Ottawa Lynx but they were on the road as well and now no longer exist. Of course the day we left it was a perfect summer morning. Drove to Toronto and few home.[/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”2″ item=”mediaGrid_BlurWithContentBlock” grid_id=”vc_gid:1514661865083-395fe5bc-6659-9″ include=”1861,1862,1863,1864,1865,1866,1867,1868,1869,1870,1871,1872,1873″][vc_btn title=”Back to My Travels” style=”3d” align=”center” button_block=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Ftheworldneedsmorekevin.com%2Fmy-travels%2F|||”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
