Civil War

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I grew up and live still near Gettysburg so I have visited there many times. It sparked an interest in me as a child and I have set out to visit the battlefields of this war, great and small. I have also visited Shiloh and Fort Donelson but I was 12 and did not take many pictures. As a disclaimer, I am nothing more than an enthusiast. While enjoying the pictures I have tried to be as accurate as possible in what they show but may not always be correct so please do not use these as any sort of authority.

Prison Camps

Being a prisoner during the Civil War was not a pleasant experience. It may have been tolerable for officers while the exchange system was working but when it broke down these prisons became a hell on Earth.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][tt_featured_page page_slug=”andersonville”][tt_featured_page page_slug=”point-lookout”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Gravesites

Getting out and about to visit these battlefields has led me to visit the gravesites of the more famous people who fought at them. It has led me into places that I would not have gone otherwise. I have visited the graves of US Presidents, Signers of the Declaration of Indepenance and others so not all of these are Civil War figures.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][tt_featured_page page_slug=”gravesites”][vc_btn title=”Back to Battlefields” style=”3d” align=”center” button_block=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Ftheworldneedsmorekevin.com%2Fbattlefields%2F|||”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
